Not sure what exactly to make of this

We decided it was time for Thea and Liam to have their first grilled steak so I set the cooker up and let them watch as I fanned the flames (always a kid favorite). Then, as we were standing there waiting for the coals to settle it was as if the children became possessed by Prometheus and they began this strange, tribal dance, encouraging the flames to rise.

Words fail in my attempt to describe the terror I felt. It was as if I were channeling Jung as he sat, captivated and caught by the power of the drum circle.

Another reason living in DC is so great.

After having breakfast at Don Jaime's in Mount Pleasant (thumbs down) we were heading back to MD on 16th St. when we saw a sign for a Russian bazaar at the Russian Orthodox Cathedral Of St John. "Why not!?" and found parking right in front of the church.

We walked around the tables, looking for Russian treasure but none was to be found so I suggested we check out the church. This is what we found .....

You really don't need a lot of weekend cash in this city to have an amazing time. Most of the museums are free, their's plenty of great parks and festivals and, now, places of worship have been added to the list.
